What is your favourite place in Prague when you want to enjoy and experience beautiful colours of Czech Autumn? We have recently visited Kunratice Brook Valley for the first time and were surprised how nice and large is that forest area. Great escape to nature! Especially during Autumn as you will see…
We started the hike in the Kunratice municipal district at the bus stop nearby the church and the chateau. Instead of going directly to the Kunratice Forest, we recommend walking through the castle park and continuing to the charming Lake Šeberák.
We visited Kunratice Brook Valley and were surprised how nice and large is that forest area. Great escape to nature!
My Amazing Prague
If you are going on this hike in the summer, you may also want to try swimming in the lake. Swimming is allowed there, but check the water quality before jumping! For those who are not convinced of swimming, we are sure you will appreciate the small beach with a pub for a short break and relaxation.
From the lake, we continued along the Kunratický brook, which took us to the Kunratický forest and its valley. The forest is vast and you can easily spend a whole day just walking through its tangled paths. If you go our hiking path, you will also pass the ruins of Nový Hrádek Castle, a mini zoo with forest animals and several viewpoints.

Na tý louce zelený,
a beer garden among trees.
During this particular hike we had a break in a restaurant called Na tý louce zelený. We stopped just for a takeaway beer because Covid situation didn’t allow us to enter the restaurant at that time. Nevertheless, we found out it has a nice beer garden in the shade of trees which we assume must be pleasant especially during hot summer days.
